Perhaps too quaint a notion in today’s fast-paced news business, Chris Halsne believes journalism remains a powerful vehicle to give a voice to the voiceless and hold the powerful accountable for bad acts, while creating memorable stories that an audience finds difficult to forget.
His specialties include cold-case crimes, systemic animal abuse, government corruption, and the dark side of sports. He’s invested in a variety of formats, from five-minute news segments to half-hour and hour prime-time special reports, to a documentary-length feature film. A rarity in television news, Halsne also uses computer-assisted reporting to uncover facts by analyzing large datasets. He teaches young broadcast journalists how to dig up unique facts and write compelling scripts for TV stories, podcasts, and documentary films.
